I have been a terrible blogger, for a while now. Family's great! Braxton turns 15 on Tuesday, crazy! All we can think about right now is where we'll be next week, well, not little Quinton:( . This vacation cannot come fast enough-get me outta here! I highly recommend scheduling a vacation about one month after the Holidays...gives you something to look forward to through the whole blah month of January! I plan to take tons of pictures, and I plan to blog about this trip! I do really...

San Diego

We went to San Diego a couple weeks ago with my parents, grandparents from Cali, my 2 sisters and my neice Madyson. Braxton enjoyed the zoo...no one seemed to care for Sea World (a lot of the park was closed). The beach seemed to be the biggest hit-and the pool at the hotel of course! Jason would have called this the trip from hell. But it's always nice to get away for a few day!

I could never go back & blog all the fun we've had in the past year...but I would love to start updating my blog again. Jason is busy with work, doing more commercial type work other than just the windows and doors-I think he likes the change in scenery. Quinton is a toddler now! That's why I feel bad I haven't updated in a while...although I believe I have taken more pictures of him than any of our other kids...he's always just doing funny things and I have been really loyal with the camera during those times. Rylee is kicking trash in 1st grade and loves it, math being her strongest subject righ now, and Braxton is doing great in 8th grade, with all the "typical" teenage drama a teenager goes through...and he's way too girl-crazy. I'm just working and can't wait for a family vacation! :) Jason & I were able to go on a cruise a couple months ago, which I definitely want to blog about. It was the first time him and I have ever been anywhere alone together! In almost 8 years, it was so amazing!! More later!

Easter Time

Dexter Joshua Hutchings was born March 31, 2010 weighing 8 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long! Sweetest little guy! Josh and Kim did great...and they have a darling new addition to their already-darling family!

I love my new little nephew so much! I thought it would make me really baby-hungry holding him (yes I know I have a baby...but still) but surprisingly it didn't!

Family Easter Party

Poor little Quinnie! The kitty got locked in his room one night...and Swiper went to town on his little leg. Yes we felt like crap, NO we are not going to kill the cat (you'd be amazed at how many people asked us that!) It was a mistake and will never happen again...Braxton had to do a project for Science...Of course Rylee had to help, well, she had to be in the pictures of course

Baby Quinton is 3 Months Old!

Baby Quinton turned 3 months old yesterday! I can't believe how fast the time goes by watching our little ones. He is such a happy baby! He is perfectly content in any situation as long as he can see or hear us. He adores Braxton and Rylee, and lately ceiling fans or anything that moves in a circular motion. He got the RSV virus around Feb 1 and that was a very scary week. He had to have breathing treatments but he was so strong and recovered quickly. He is such a blessing in our home and we all love him so much.

Jason loves to balance the kids in the air when they're babies, and Quinton seems to love it He was trying to look at the Snoopy on Rylee's shirtHe LOVES to watch his OU football teddy bears mobile. We go up to Jason's grandma's cabin for a Christmas party every year. The kids go sledding all day and it's so fun! We went up to my mom's for Christmas Eve dinner and games.

We headed up to the family cabin about a week before Christmas for snowmobiling and relaxing...it was perfect! I will upload more activities from December soon, as I am far behind on my blogging!

Quinton Del Ferran

I'm finally updating my blog! I had my baby 10 days ago...sweet little Quinton Del Ferran! He weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and was 19 inches long. He had such a soft cry after being born, it was very different for me from when Rylee was born, she screamed bloody murder! :) He is such a precious addition to our family and we all just love him so much. He mostly just sleeps, eats and poops right now (pretty normal I think). He looks exactly like Jason (all of our kids do...) The delivery went rather smooth. I was just bummed the kids couldn't come to see us at the hospital (very strict rules lately with the H1N1 and sick season going on). Childbirth sure makes me fall in love with my family all over again...I've always loved them, but it just has given me the time to really reflect on each one of them and how important they all are to me. I love being a wife and mother, more than anything!

Before the big moment...well, Jason and my mom quickly fell asleep after we got there, it looked like it was going to be a long night. So I updated Facebook all night, what else to do while in labor and everyone around you is asleep? :)

Great News!!!

I had my ultrasound this morning and received very good news! The placenta is no longer low lying and the perinatologist said I will probably be able to proceed with a normal delivery as long as there are no more problems! I'm so happy! And the baby looks really good, he is a good 5 lbs 15 ounces already! I will continue to do 2 non-stress tests a week so they can keep an eye on the baby's heart rate, but things are looking very good. I have felt great these past 2 weeks and have had more energy. I have been having contractions, but I've been having them for approximately 10 weeks now, so no concern there. I feel like I've really been able to enjoy the pregnancy these past couple of weeks. I'm so excited and still can't wait to meet little Quinton! I think he's going to be HUGE when he decides to come :)

Baby Update

So I haven't really posted anything about my pregnancy! I've had a few pregnancy complications and well, I just didn't want to be "one of those pregnant women" that blogs about problems or discomforts, etc. BUT...I got to thinking today, and this is my blog, and I eventually want my blog posted in a book (one of those procrastinations of mine) and anyway, it's okay to blog about it! I have a condition called placenta previa which has caused several complications and trips to the hospital. I've had to go the doctor's and get tests and ultrasounds way more than I've wanted to...but it's oaky, it's all to make sure the baby is doing well. And so far he is! I've had several rounds of steroids for his little lungs in case he decides to come early, then his lungs will be more developed. They've had to stop contractions twice, once at 26 weeks and then again last week. I've been on "bedrest" for a while now. Thanks to Jason and the kids, I haven't felt like I've been overdoing anything at all. Jason has been so patient and supportive through all of this, and the kids have too. They help out tons with housework and I'm just so blessed to have such a great family. Then there's my work...I have missed so much work and they have all been so helpful and supportive as well. I don't feel pressure from anyone or anything. I'm very lucky to have such great family and friends! Anyway...they will be doing one more ultrasound on November 4th to check the position of everything. I've been told to plan on a c-section around 36 or 37 weeks, which puts delivery about the week or so before Thanksgiving. It's coming fast! :) But I can't wait to meet this little guy! I know he will be worth all of this! Sometimes I get frustrated with all the changes I've had to make to accommodate this pregnancy...but I just know he will be worth it. I will try to be better about updating my blog about baby Quinn! :)

OU/BYU Family Fun

So it's been a couple weeks since the OU/BYU game, and Jason and I are still getting crap for the results of the game (from lots of friends and family)...but i don't care, we're still loyal OU fans! I got a lot of stares today at BYU while wearing my OU t-shirt down to get some hot dogs...that was interesting. We had a fun little family get-together and BBQ the night of the big game.

I have been putting this post off for a while, probably because I get teary-eyed thinking about all the changes Braxton and Rylee have gone through this past year. Braxton finished 6th grade and is on to Jr High, and Rylee finished Preschool and started Kindergarten. I seriously get emotional looking at these pictures from the first day of school for them this year (could it be my hormones are just out of control? Seriously, I got teary-eyed watching "16 & Pregnant" a couple weeks ago on MTV...get a grip)! The kids are both loving school this year!

Random Fun

Jason's dad always comes around on the weekends to visit. He usually brings the kids treats (Rylee never forgets this one), sometimes takes them to movies, and he just spends time with them when he can. A couple weeks ago he came over and Rylee wanted him to play with her little water toys. They sprayed down his car, then she just decided to get her swimming suit on so she could stick her head in the bucket and have grandpa dump it over her head (I remember it was a bit chilly that day too). I love my father in-law! He is so good to our family and the kids absolutely adore him!
Rylee got on a new kick with riding her bike around the block with Jason, but she'll only do it if he'll go around 3 times! After doing it a few times he tries to negotiate with her and go around only once or twice, but she refuses to go unless he commits to 3 times around!And her other favorite thing to do is ride on Braxton's scooter with him. She loves this probably more than anything. Braxton's scooter struggles when he has her on there, but he makes it work so she can go on a ride.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon one day a few weeks ago with Darise and Peter. Darise's work has a Lagoon Day every Summer and it's great to take the kids right before school starts. Here are some pictures from our fun day! Brax was really great about riding some of the little rides with Rylee as the day went on...she was so happy! Peter won Rylee a small fish on this dumb magnetic fishing game that I was sure was impossibleBraxton won some stuffed animals too, his favorite thing to do there is play the games Brax pretending to be terrified on the umbrellas Waiting in line Darise & Peter Rylee couldn't stay up during this ride, this was her favorite ride this time, she loved that Braxton was willing to go on it so much with her!I LOVE this picture of the 2!!!

Jenny & Rodney came to Utah in July!

Jason's sister Jenny, her husband Rodney & their 2 kids Sydney & Cody came to visit for a week in July! It was Jenny's birthday while they were here so we got to celebrate with them. I love them sooo much! The kids absolutely loved having them here. They quite a bit of sight-seeing and hiking in Provo & AF Canyon, and even hiked Timp Cave. Wish I had taken more pictures!

Baby Cody! Such a darling little boy that LOVES to eat (& I've never seen a baby that spits up as much as he does :)!We made Jenny a cake for her birthday (you know, one of those top of the line store-bought box cakes!) Braxton was sure helpful in making sure there were enough candles on Jenny's cake! Rodney with Cody...he is such a good dad! So patient and fun to hang out with! We had tons of fun hanging out with Rodney & Jenny! We felt like we actually had some friends for the week! Jason & Jenny...they are so close and have such a great relationship! I'm so lucky to have such great in-laws!! We LOVED having them here and wish we could see them more often!

I've been a total slacker with my blog! I promise to have some updates from our little family day at Lagoon, and Braxton's first day of Jr High! I had a little scare with baby over the weekend but all is good now...looks like I have a very low-lying placenta (placenta previa) that caused some bleeding and contractions, but hospital monitored everything overnight and put me on bed rest for about a week or 2. But I'm feeling a little stronger everyday and I hope everything shifts the way it's supposed to over the next few months (I have read 95% of placenta previa cases will in fact migrate upwards the way it should before delivery, so yay, chances are great!) I'm being very careful and hope our baby stays inside until full-term! We STILL don't have a name for him at all...working on that but nothing yet. I will update blog hopefully this weekend with pictures and more info on what we've been up to!

4th of July & Lake Powell

I'm a bit late with this post, but truly I'm loyal to Facebook and once I've got things on there I don't feel pressure to blog, but I do want to keep up with blogging, so here goes. We went to Stadium of Fire to see the Jonas Brothers and the kids loved it! Braxton sang every song and Rylee pretended to know all of the songs. Even Jason enjoyed their music. Then there's Lake Powell, the same trip we go on every year. It was fun but way too HOT this year.

We find out tomorrow if we're having a boy or a girl! I have absolutely NO intuition about this one...and with Rylee I was convinced she was a boy...so my intuition wouldn't mean anything anyway. I will post tomorrow what we are having...boy or girl-we will be so happy and excited to start picking out some baby names!

Braxton's first Lacrosse game

Braxton played in his first Lacrosse game on Saturday and it was awesome! I don't mean to boast, but the kid got 5 goals! Scoring the first 2 of the season...he just seems to really pick up the sport and plays it well. I really like the gear they wear, and it's fun to watch the whole time. It's kind of brutal but so fun!!!

Our cousin Chance is coaching his team (we didn't really have a coach to begin with). Chance plays Lacrosse for Mountain View High and he is awesome with the kids! I think it might be better that they have a young coach like Chance...who really wants them to be good and play the sport right and learn all the right skills. He never stops yelling corrections and compliments the entire time they play, he is really involved with the kids! I managed to get this funny wedgie shot in the middle of the game...LOLFacing off (I think that's what they call it)Way to go Provo Outlaws!! They won!Great sportsmanship

Rylee's Stitches

Rylee was getting out of the back of Jason's truck a couple of Sundays ago and her pant leg got caught on the trailer hitch ball and she feel and smacked her face on the concrete. We rushed her to the hospital (there was so much blood!) and waited a good 6 hours until they finally sedated her and gave her a few stitches below her lip. I stayed home with her the day after and all she wanted to do was go play with her friends, but she was so tired from being sedated the night before and I just tried to get her to slow down a bit.

Here she is with a sprinkle stuck to her mouth (she was magically able to choke down a donut the next day)

Poor baby was so swollen the next dayShe had fun playing a golf game with Braxton (& I had fun hanging out with the 2 kids on a Monday! It was nice to take the day off and spend it with just the 2 kids)

By afternoon she was definitely bored and I let her jump on the tramp with the hose

She got her stitches out this past Saturday and it's amazing how quickly kids heal! She got scared when they pulled out the instruments to remove the stitches but it didn't hurt her at all, she did so good!

Okay, so Rylee didn't have a graduation, but she finished her Preschool years and moved on up to Zebra's class (from the Lion's class) to prepare her for Kindergarten in August. And she had 2 of the greatest teachers this past year that she adored.

I didn't take very many pictures on Mother's Day. But I had a great one. Jason got me a new blackberry curve, Braxton got me some beautiful orange flowers, and Rylee made me a darling card at school. We went to my mom's for dinner and games, and then we headed to Jason's grandma's. I managed only to get a few pictures of the game we played at my mom's.

We're having a baby! Pretty excited! I'm due December 6th. Braxton wants a little brother and Rylee wants a little sister, so one of them will be disappointed I'm sure. I don't really care if we have a boy or a girl, though I'm convinced boys are easier to raise than girls! :)

Jason showed Rylee one night how you can suck your hair through a vacuum...but it ended up hurting her and she didn't find it funny (Jason didn't mean to hurt her...)

I forgot to put the battery in the camera after charging it so no pictures from all of our Easter parties. We enjoyed a party at Jason's Aunt Sharon's that day, Jason's Aunt Dora's, and then my Aunt Jeri's house. The kids had a lot of fun and there was tons of great food every where we went. Braxton was not home the Friday or Saturday before Easter, so Rylee colored eggs by herself. She spent HOURS coloring them! I got sick of it after about an hour, but she continued coloring forever after I was done.

My beautiful mother's birthday is today! She is a very young 55. I'd go ahead and list 55 reasons why I love my mother, but honestly...she's everything you need and want in a mother! She was so supportive of me growing up, even though I wasn't always nice to her. She believed in me more than anyone! She is truly an example to me as a mother and friend. I always try to stop and think "what would my mom do in this situation?" I cherish my mom with all my heart. Her laugh is hilarious (seriously, you would just laugh if you heard what her laugh sounds like!), she's always the last person to understand a joke (with me coming in quick 2nd)! She works so hard (she's been at the same job for 20+ years I think!) She makes sure my dad has everything he needs at any given moment. She's so organized and doesn't forget ANYTHING! She is never late to anything, in fact, she's always the first to arrive. She loves going to movies. She loves going boating and playing in Lake Powell. Our kids absolutely adore her. She is the perfect mother, grandmother, wife, and friend!

Braxton's Uncle Jared

Braxton's Uncle Jared, Amy's brother, was involved in an accident Tuesday night while longboarding behind an ATV with a rope. He is in critical condition and as of yesterday had no reports of brain activity. Braxton went up to the hospital with his family all day yesterday and spent the day with them. I have not had an update on Jared's condition today, but we are so sorry for him and his family. Please keep Braxton, Amy, and their family in your prayers. Here is a breif news story from kutv.com.

A young man was critically injured after an accident involving a skateboard and an all terrain vehicle Tuesday evening in Riverton. The accident happened in a gated community at 2494 West Adelaide Drive. The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office says the man in his 20's was riding on a skateboard that was tied with a rope to an ATV. He fell while being pulled behind the ATV. The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is still looking into the incident to see if anyone is at fault. "You know definitely a hazardous thing to be doing in a residential area. So the deputies will be looking into see what type of traffic violations we have here," said Sheriff Deputy Jason Johnson. Paramedics say the injured skateboarder had critical head injuries and was transported to University hospital by a medical helicopter.

Okay so last week I kept finding all of my dish towels covered in grout and dirty from Jason using them while tiling our new shower! I was livid every time I found one...and realized I couldn't find any clean ones anywhere. He kept making up excuses that he only used a few...he didn't know where the others were. Then I'd find more wadded up in a pile in the bathroom hiding in the corner. I was seriously fuming every time I found them. So I kind of freaked out on him last week, then of course I felt bad. He's been building a new shower in our master bathroom and it looks absolutely fabulous. So I apologized and whatnot. Well, yesterday I decided to buy a few new dish towels and let him know, "these are ONLY FOR DISHES!" So today he sends me the following picture text messages:

"the new towels work great!"

I know he thinks he's pretty funny, because he took the time to take 2 pictures, one with each color of dish towel that I bought. I love this dork!

Crazy Hair

Rylee has the craziest hair at times. Following is a picture of Rylee the other night and the other is of her hair after it was fixed at "hair day" at Preschool. I guess they have someone come fix the girls' hair sometimes. I'm not sure which hair-do is worse! :) Rylee loved it though, she wouldn't let me fix it when she went to dance yesterday...she was so proud of her "hair day" hair! I know that her cutting her own hair a while back probably doesn't help these creations, but it has grown quite quickly.

Valentine's Day Project

Braxton said his teacher told the students they could make Valentine's boxes if they wanted to, and that the class would have a contest to vote for the best one. Braxton & his friend Dalton got together and came up with an idea to make one big limo/hummer/gangster car for them to share for their Valentine's. We weren't sure what it ended up being, so it could be passed off as either or all of the above I guess. They had a lot of fun (even though Jason ended up doing most of it for them) and things got pretty creative last night. And Rylee of course wanted to help.

We took Braxton to Tacanos for his birthday dinner, my mom and my brother Josh joined us. Braxton doesn't even get the salad bar when we go, he just wants to save room for all the meat

Jason's grandma's birthday was on the same day as the Superbowl, so we had a little get-together with some family and friends. It was fun & Jason's aunt ended up winning $50 from a little game Jason's dad loves to play every year (I don't know, you buy squares and put your name in it and somehow depending on what number the score is how much you can win...I seriously don't get it)The game got very intense for Jason...he was pacing the whole last 1/2! Great ending though eh?I love this picture of them holding up their winnings...We went to the Training Table with my family to celebrate my birthday (the wait at Chili's was 2 1/2 hours, um no thanks!)

Braxton is 12!

Braxton's birthday was Saturday, so I'm a little late with this post. I can't believe he's 12! He's really growing up so fast! He has been my little buddy for the past 6 years and he is truly what made me "grow up". I was a little lost in life once (ha, a few times) but when Jason and Braxton came along I knew I had no other choice but to learn to be the best mom I could be, and right away. Braxton is a great kid! He is so loving and just wants to hang out with us and tell stories (Loooooong stories). He has never back-talked or raised his voice (maybe to Rylee a time or two, but never me). He is very respectful. He doesn't complain much when asked to do things he doesn't enjoy (chores, be nice to Rylee, eat everything on his plate, etc). He tries so hard in school. He does well in school, sports, and makes friends so easily. He has a huge smile and a very unique laugh that makes me smile. He looks up to Jason in so many ways. He loves his family (he has a TON of family!) He is a simple kid, that likes to have fun and hang out with his friends and talk to girls on the phone. He enjoys football (playing and watching, OU of course), basketball, skating with his speed skates, school (some of it), skate boarding, riding motorcycles, his Swiper Kitty, Lake Powell, Xbox, Wii, FRIENDS, swimming, wake boarding, watching tv, playing the guitar, playing board games, camping, soccer, going to his grandma's, big trucks, playing with his little brother Trapper & little sister Rylee! I love Braxton with all my heart, and it's sometimes hard seeing how fast time goes by, but I love seeing all of his accomplishments. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAXTON!

Braxton has surprised us a bit this year with his confidence when playing basketball. He used to kind of hold back and wait for the ball to come to him, but now he dives right in and goes for it! He did so well this past Saturday! He made several baskets in a row!

He had some crazy sweaty hair after his game Saturday! His hair is so thick and full and wavy, he will never go bald I'm sure! We are working on getting a hair cut into our busy schedule :)

I've gone through a camera transition, therefore I haven't posted any new pictures for awhile. Jason gave me a new camera for Christmas and I haven't yet learned all the features it has (beyond "auto" anyway). I love my new camera! I will try to catch up on my blog now. "Oh No She didn't..."

I was following Braxton into his room today and we discovered Rylee had been playing in there with her little friend Addie. Braxton looked under his bed and we saw all of Rylee's toys under there. So I was trying to assure Braxton this would not happen again and I'd go talk to Rylee about it. Then Braxton said, "is that hair in my garbage?" I look in the garbage to find quite a large lump of dark black hair and some blond hair too. I started to panic! No way did the 2 little girls cut their own hair! I ran into Rylee's room to find both little girls hiding in Rylee's closet. Sure enough, Addie (who had long, curly black hair) now had patches of hair gone all over her head. And Rylee had given herself a lovely cut of bangs only on one side! The girls confess that RYLEE cut both girls' hair. How was I going to tell her parents? I was so scared and sick to my stomach. So Jason and I went next door and the look on her dad's face was just as shocked as our faces were to find out. Then he said, "I just don't how I'm going to tell her mother". Addie's parents are divorced and she was with her dad on his weekend. So I called my cousin Blair to try and fix both girls' hair and she did a great job (considering what she had to start with). But Rylee had cut so much of this little girl's hair it was so sad! Needless to say Addie's dad was very understanding and called Addie's mom too and she was understanding of it (probably until she sees her little girl's curls are all gone). This was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do as a parent, tell another parent my kid cut their kids' hair! (& I did not get pictures of Addie's hair...I felt too guilty to rip out the camera, but I do have some pictures of Rylee's hair that I can post later)

Company Christmas Party

Jason and I had so much fun in Las Vegas last weekend! We absolutely loved the show KA, well, Jason has mixed feelings about it, but I loved it! We walked around Vegas for what seemed like 18 hours on Saturday (I'm sorry I didn't call you Melyna!), then ate dinner at the Treasure Island Steakhouse with my work that night (which was soooo good! I ate 2 desserts!) We watched a great(& hilarious) company video created by Jen's husband Shane. Jason and I didn't play in a Texas Hold Em tournament. I kept chickening out for some reason, the players always look so serious and intimidating, like they just want to take everyone's money and I think I would just choke if I sat down at a Hold Em table. So I played a lot of black jack instead! All in all we didn't lose any money (I don't think we won much either), and we had so much fun! I work with great people, all of which are true friends.

Braxton's Christmas Program

Braxton had his Christmas program at school last week, but my camera is terrible and the pictures turned out really fuzzy. He's in a guitar class at school and they played 2 songs. It was the perfect program! He was the first act, they played 2 songs, then were done! It was great to see all these kids learning to play a musical instrument. Jason plays the guitar, so it's pretty cool that Braxton wants to also. He did a good job! He looked so nervous the whole time, but he did so well! Here, fuzzy pictures below:

Jason and I are heading out of town tomorrow for a weekend in Las Vegas for my company Christmas party. I'm so excited and need a little stress-relief (who doesn't right?) :) I can't wait! We went to Las Vegas last year for our company party and had a blast! I am looking forward to seeing the Cirque du Soleil show called KA and eating a fancy steak dinner with my work friends. OH, and Jason and I are going to be playing in our first Texas Hold Em' tournament, so wish us luck! :)

Getting Ready for Christmas

I am skipping our Oklahoma vacation for now and will post it at a later time (too many pictures to go through!) Last night we put up our Christmas tree and it was just cute to see the kids so excited. Well, and Jason! He got all of the Christmas decorations out while I was grocery shopping! I thought we'd wait until next weekend, but I guess he was ready now. Every year I always want to do some extravagant tree with matching colors, or new decorations, or something trendy, but the kids just like to put up whatever's in sight, so we still end up with an extravagant tree, just "Braxton/Rylee" type of extravagant if you know what I mean! I love to see them getting into the holiday spirit!

Out of 85K+ people at the stadium on Saturday night for the OU game...I was on TV!!!! My little neice said she saw me on tv at the game and her mom Jenny said, "Oh, she just sees people that look like other people and thinks it's them..." but we watched the recording of the game and my sister in-law Jenny and I can be seen...freaking awesome! Our baby girl's 4th birthday is today! Rylee is our sweet little angel who seems to make everyone laugh all the time. She definitely has a sense of humor, and has a way of making any day brighter. She loves Braxton, ADORES Braxton, and copies everything he does. When Braxton is around it doesn't matter what Jason and I tell her, we usually have to tell Braxton, "tell Rylee to do this..." and then she'll do it. She is definitely a daddy's girl, and a mommy's girl too! She is such a precious little girl that just lights up a room. We love our little Rylee Toes! She is more excited about this birthday than any other year so far...she gets to wear a crown at school all day today!

My aunt told me about Yoasis a couple of weeks ago, so I tried it out last Friday, and again today, and probably will again tomorrow! I'm hooked, it's sooooo good, and healthy! It's pure frozen yogurt and tastes like nothing I've ever had, but I love it and can't get enough of it! There's not many options to choose from, just several different fruits or dry toppings, but it doesn't matter, because the yogurt is the best part!

BYU & OU this weekend!

I am excited to watch 2 of our favorite teams this weekend, BYU & OU! Both teams are in the top 10 (OU being #1) and it's been an exciting season to watch football. Oh, and watching the U of U game last night was great too! Anyway, can you tell I didn't have anything else to post today? Here are some pictures of my brother Josh and my dad at the BYU/UCLA game a couple of weeks ago...it was pretty funny to see them on TV acting like true fans! (PS. my brother Josh is actually a true U of U fan, so it was good the cameras caught him with a BYU hat!)

Pure Silver

I woke up yesterday almost 75% sure I was getting strep throat. My sister works for Nature's Sunshine and told me she was going to bring over some "stuff" that some of her coworkers swore after taking this "stuff" they would feel better the next day. So I gave it a shot, then researched it a bit. It's pure silver...and serves as an all-natural antibiotic (I had no idea, I'd never heard of pure silver as an immune system support).

Kids update

Braxton is adjusting to his new school, and the 6th grade. The transition was a little tough on him at first, but he seems to be enjoying it now and is getting used to all the changes. He has been playing his first year of tackle football this year and seems to really like it. It's a major time commitment (everyday!) so he doesn't have a lot of free time for anything else. I enjoy going to his games. It's still hard for me to look at him in full football gear (go #60!), he's growing up so fast! He plays for the Centennial Bulldogs. He is also taking guitar lessons at school (he wants to play like Jason one day) Rylee is in her 2nd year of Preschool (Lion's class) and loves it this year! She's made new friends and loves her teachers. She is a pro on the monkey bars (she shows me everyday when I pick her up). Rylee has been playing soccer with her 2 friends Molli and Wyatt and seems to enjoy that. She loses focus the last 10 minutes of practice or so but she is still more focused than she was during baseball, so it's an improvement! She recently started gymnastics and loves it! She is pretty coordinated and loves to wear a leotard every Saturday (she even kept it on all day this past Saturday!)

Last night Jason and I played Rummikub with the kids. We love playing games! Rylee actually had her little board all set up and when she laid down her tiles, they actually made sense! (matching colors, numbers were in order). I'm not sure if she meant to...but it assured me that she is probably learning more than I realize while at school! Braxton is learning the game well, although he is taking after his dad and spending well over the 2-minute limit on his turns (I get so impatient with Jason, now with both of them!) I love spending time with all 4 of us...I wish we were better about it. We get caught up in our schedules, and chores, and everything else and sometimes forget to just slow down and have family time. It's the small simple things like playing games that the kids find most enjoyable anyway. I am going to try harder to set up simple family quality-time moments like playing games, or just hanging out outside together, it makes for a great start of a new week! I love the concentration in this picture...

We had a "not-so-surprised" surprise party for Jason last night (considering I got him there too early, before most of our family and friends showed up, oops) and it was tons of fun! Jason got lots of great stuff for his birthday, and his mom made such a yummy and cute OU cake! I don't have my camera today, so I'll post pictures from the dinner party later, but we did take some fun family pictures with my phone last night of us all wearing his new helmet! I was so happy both of our families and our friends were able to come and make Jason's birthday great...he was so happy and grateful to everyone!

My sister in-law Jenny had a baby boy this morning! I'm sad we live so far away from her...we hope to go out to Oklahoma before the year's over to visit though. I just love Jenny! She has been such a good friend to me since day one and has always made me feel like family. Jenny & Rodney (& probably Sydney) named him Cody (or maybe it's spelled with a K?) and he weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and was 18.5. The kids started school this morning! Both were very excited and giddy. Rylee and I dropped Braxton off at his new school Westridge and Rylee was very excited to walk him to his class with me. Braxton's new teacher is Mr. Roddam. Then off to Adventuretime for Rylee to start her new Lion's class...with teacher Paula in the morning and teacher Barbie in the afternoons. I'm excited for the kids to meet new friends and have fun at school! I can't believe Braxton is in the 6th grade!!

I can't believe today is Braxton's last day of Summer (weekday anyway). He goes back to school on Monday and will be in the 6th grade. We met his teacher last night and he seems pretty cool, laid back, and very friendly. I think Braxton is very excited to start school to see his friends, meet new friends, and of course cute girls. He is also attending a new elementary school because they have demolished his old school, so that's kind of exciting for him as well. He sure is growing up! Oh, and Rylee's moving on up into the Lion's class at her Preschool (she is currently a Kanga) and her new teacher's name is Miss Barbie, so she's pretty excited about that too. More later...I will be sure to get pics of the kids on their first day back to school.

Darise's work had an employee family Lagoon Day on Friday. The served an all-you-can eat bbq for dinner. It was really fun! Braxton had never been to Lagoon, so I was really excited for him to go...him and Peter made the mistake of starting their day off on the crazy circle-spinning chair on the carousel. It was a blast!

5 Years...

Today is our Anniversary...5 years. Jason just came into my office at work and brought me some really pretty flowers in a really beautiful vase. He has come a long way over the past 5 years, with the whole "taking your wife flowers thing" so I'm very happy! Here's 5 reasons why I love Jason (I know, cute eh, 5 years-5 reasons...a little cheesy I know)

1-He is very supportive, and sensitive to my feelings. He wants me to be happy and that is obvious.
2-He is such a good father to our kids. One reason I fell in love with Jason was because of the kind of dad he was to Braxton. I knew he was exactly the kind of dad I wanted for my own kids one day. Braxton & Rylee adore him.
3-He works so hard. He is constantly working on something. If he's not out working he's doing our own home improvements, and he's so good at it! And I'm not always that patient with him (living in a construction zone)...but I am always so amazed at the work he does, and ideas he comes up with, and what he's doing for our home. He makes everything more livable, and comfortable.
4-He has a great sense of humor. And he uses this quite often to his advantage to make fun of me! :) But he's very careful about it and apparently I'm an easy person to tease. I always end up laughing WITH him when he's really probably just laughing at me...:)
5-He's HOT. I love him with and without clothes. (he he) 5 things is hardly all the reasons why I love Jason. My list could go on and on. He is such a good husband, father, and truly my best friend. I'm so proud to call him my husband. It's been 5 years and I'm looking forward to many more. I LOVE YOU JASON!!!

Rylee and I went over to our friend's Tony & Kyla's house this past Saturday to go swimming. Rylee was so excited. She sure misses her little friends Wyatt and Molli, so it was fun to visit with good friends and watch the kids swim.

I'm Not Lovin' It: Hearing Impaired Woman Sues McDonald's Over Drive-Thru Refusal

Karen Tumeh of Lincoln says they insisted she either order at the electronic speaker along the drive-thru lane or come inside to order.

Tumeh wears a hearing aid but still cannot hear while using the drive-thru ordering box at fast-food restaurants, according to the lawsuit.

At least three times since September 2007 workers at a Lincoln McDonald's refused to let her place her order at the drive-thru window, Tumeh said.

In denying her service, McDonald's violated the federal Americans With Disabilities Act, she said. Tumeh's lawsuit seeks to force McDonald's to make accommodations for hearing-impaired people to order food in restaurant drive-thrus.

She also seeks unspecified damages and attorney's fees. McDonald's corporate headquarters did not immediately return a message seeking comment Tuesday by The Associated Press.

Tumeh is physically capable of walking inside to order, but that's not the point, her attorney, Shirley Ann Mora James, said Tuesday.

"She has children who are autistic, and if they're having difficulties, it would make it problematic for her," Mora James said.

"It's not appropriate for a hearing-impaired person to be forced to go inside because of their disability, when ... other drive-thru, fast-food restaurants have a policy to allow deaf and hard-of-hearing people to order at the drive-thru window."

Other McDonald's restaurants in Lincoln have accommodated Tumeh, Mora James said.

"We have attempted to resolve this on many occasions and have unfortunately been unable to resolve this," Mora James said. "So we were forced into litigation."

I've been really bummed I haven't done a new post for awhile, and truly it's because I lost a lot of pictures, yet again...because of my dang (we'll keep it clean) computer issues. We got a virus or something that corrupted all of our files. Well, I was excited because I had all of my pictures and videos saved on my other hard drive...but come to find out it has to be re-formatted or something like that and in order to re-format the hard drive, "all of your current data will be lost...." Ug...I know there's data recovery specialists out there, but I don't want to pay another one for the second time this year! So anyway, I'm just going to post some pictures from our Lake Powell trip from last year, considering we are going in a couple of weeks and it's a much-needed break! I will post this year's pictures of the trip when we get back...we can't wait...
